"190.And
fight in the cause of Allah those who fight and persecute you, but commit no
aggression. Surely, Allah does not love the aggressors.
191.And slay them (the aggressors against whom fighting is made incumbent)
when and where you get the better of them, in disciplinary way, and turn them
out whence they have turned you. (Killing is bad but) lawlessness is even worse
than carnage. But do not fight them in the precincts of Masjid al-Haram (the
Holy Mosque at Makkah) unless they fight you therein. Should they attack you
(there) then slay them. This indeed is the recompense of such disbelievers.
192.But if they desist (from aggression) then, behold, Allah is indeed the
Great Protector, Ever Merciful.
193.And fight them until persecution is no more and religion is (freely professed)
for Allah. But if they desist (from hostilities) then (remember) there is no
punishment except against the unjust (who still persist in persecution)."
-The
Holy Qur'an, Al-Baqarah (Sura 2)
It seems like this could be taken many ways. I would assume that Islamic Fundamentalists
claim the first world is an aggressor, so killing is justified. Of course, being
a member of the first world, and a believer in a kinder, gentler God, I like
the idea that "Allah is indeed the Great Protector, Ever Merciful."
This makes me suppose that Mohhamed would have wanted things to be worked out
peacefully, with none of the killing that has already happened, or that which
is about to start. Talking, talking is very good, much better than killing.

Naked I lie in the green forest of summer...
Too lazy to wave my white-feathered fan.

Blowing through the pine trees.

"Zaftig, in Yiddish, means juicy. It also means voluptuous, plump,
and round in
a deliciously sensuous sort of way," writes Hanne Blank. "Used to refer to
people's
bodies, it suggests opulence and abundance, a sort of unconventional beauty built
on heft and curves and softness. Zaftig is also, often, a euphemism for saying
that someone is fat."

To make a profitable business:
(i)Percieved high barriers to entry. They can't be really be high,
or I couldn't afford to enter.
(ii)High profit margins. Otherwise profit is driven to zero and I only
make a wage.
(iii)High demand. Otherwise the business can't be scaled to make more
obscene amounts of money.

Sitting at the coffee shop today, I could tell you were near. I looked up, startled. Where
you should have been stood an imposter, some other girl. She had your smell, but
nothing else was the way it should have been. Disappointed, I looked away.
Later I realized, she had the same perfume you do. Scents traded for dollars confuse me.
How can you buy your smell? What do you really smell like? For that matter, what does
she really smell like? Is the perfume hiding something, some smell less pleasant than
manufactured sensuality?
I would have hoped that sensuality could not be purchased. It can. It comes in little
bottles, and packages of silk under things, shoes that don't fit feet, and articles of clothing
that don't keep you warm. Don't you want to be warm? Everybody likes to be warm.

Apparently I post a lot more when I should
be doing school work, probably not a good thing. Plug
me in. It's hot and boring in Boulder. Class is going on. I have
lots of homework to do. Math is screwing with my mind.
If a~b => b~a and a~b,b~c => a~c, then shouldn't
letting a=c mean that a~b, b~a => a~a. Apparently it doesn't, though
my grasp of why is tenuous at best.
Some people have far too much time. I on the other hand
should go feed Collin's dog. It growled at me. I've been coming over
to his house for five years. I come over to feed the damn thing, and
he growls at me.
I guess it will all work out. Collin's
mother is compensating me for my labours with a bottle of scotch. It
seems like that is probably illegal, but since Ela stole my scotch,
I don't feel too bad.
