Nobody understands humor.

I called two bimbos "vapid." They didn't know what that meant (dramatic irony I think), so I laughed.

I met someone today. Her roommate put three socks behind the headboard of her bed. Every so often, the socks would work loose, and the headboard would smash against the wall, usually around 3 in the morning. So I laughed.

I really like the younger picture of William Carlos Williams better... assuming that is actually him... The only pictures I've seen in print are of him old and shriveled, like a dream differed.

The past is not different from the future, or the present. Cause is effect.

There are two ideas. One is the notion that time and space do not separate us. The second, and more arguable, is for the disintegration of ego.

What is meant by "be?" I do not want to cease to be, rather, I want to be one with all around me. The problem is that I still cling to existence, even in the hope of unity with everything.

I am such a small part of everything, that the oneness is effectively the cessation of being.

If the material world is all there is, then to become one with it is to cease to be, and that could be accomplished by suicide as well as enlightenment. I don't like that conclusion, so there is something beyond the physical.

So, to achieve nirvana, is to become apart from time and space, hence apart from what you know as yourself. That must be meant by what is to cease to be.

I have just bastardized the concept. One ceases to be, only to be again in a different matter. What's the point? Self improvement? We are back to ego again, so something is wrong...

It seems virtually no one has heard of Holst's Planets. That makes me sad. Bart's CD Cellar doesn't even have it. The dreadlocked woman at the counter had never heard of it.

What I really remember the Planet's from is this video I have where Isaac Asimov gives a tour of the route Voyager I followed. He provides a description of how detrimental to human life each planet is to the tune of Holst.

The music fits surprising well with the Planet's themselves....and Amanda said I couldn't appreciate music because I didn't "see" the Seasons when listening to Vivaldi.

Holst does a better job, that's all.

I got a really nice bike repair stand. I've been spending all my free time during the last few days putting bikes together, and tuning already assembled ones. My Trek 8000 is as close to the way it was when I bought it as it will ever be.

I almost want to cry looking at it. Strangely, for once, it's not tears of frustration or anger or... I've had so much fun riding that bike, that seems like the most worthwhile part of my existence. The same could be said about my newly reassembled ultra-spiffy Y bike. It might be the most beautiful bike I own...

Now, it's time to get to work on the choppers, because I don't feel like finishing the parser for my neural network. I'll do that later tonight, or very early tommorow morning.
